Job Description
MoCaFi is seeking a customer-focused Senior UX/UI Designer to create meaningful and engaging web experiences. This individual will play a crucial role in designing and developing our company website, ensuring seamless user experiences that align with MoCaFi’s brand and business objectives. The position involves collaborating with the Product team to create a user-friendly platform for securely logging in and viewing account statuses. You will report directly to the Director of UX/UI Design.
As a rapidly growing fintech company, MoCaFi thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role involves helping the team overcome challenges, testing ideas, and ensuring timely delivery of impactful products for our customers.
This role is remote unless you are located in the NYC area, in which case the position will be hybrid (part-time in our Manhattan office).
Job Responsibilities
- Design UI for Client Website: Develop the user interface for a secure website allowing users to log in and monitor their payment requests.
- Team Leadership: Hire, manage, and grow the web design team.
- Prototypes & Design: Create Lo-Fi & Hi-Fi comps and prototypes for user engagement.
- Customer-Centric Research: Conduct research to understand customer and client needs.
- Information Architecture: Develop navigation, labeling, search functions, and a logical website structure.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure designs align with brand guidelines across platforms.
- Collaborative Work: Work with Content Designers, Marketing, and Legal teams to ensure compliance.
- Facilitate Decision-Making: Aid in decision-making between stakeholders and development teams.
- Ongoing Support: Create new design components and provide website maintenance.
- Accessibility: Ensure website accessibility and compliance with web standards (e.g., ADA).
- Stay Current: Keep up to date with the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in web design.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Centered Design or 5+ years of relevant experience (startup experience is preferred).
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience working in the financial services industry.
- 3+ years of design experience using Figma.
- 3+ years of experience leading and developing a team.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of responsive design, user-centered design, interaction design, and UI/UX principles.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and web accessibility standards.
- Experience with Scrum Agile development processes.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, FigJam, Miro, Visio, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in Confluence, JIRA, or similar project management tools.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing design process and problem-solving approach.
- Authorization: Must be permanently located and authorized to work in the United States.
