Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Position Overview:
Raft is seeking a motivated UX Design Intern for summer 2025. This role is a unique opportunity to apply Human-Centered Design principles to real-world projects, contributing to impactful, user-friendly software solutions. You will work closely with our product and design teams, gaining hands-on experience in UX research, wireframing, usability testing, and design implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting user research (qualitative and quantitative) to inform design decisions.
• Create wireframes, user journey maps, and interaction designs using tools like Figma.
• Support visual design efforts, focusing on information architecture and UI design.
• Conduct usability tests, analyze feedback, and propose improvements to internal platforms.
• Document project progress and outcomes, contributing to user-friendly interface designs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
• U.S. citizenship (required due to exposure to government-related work).
• Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Knowledge of Human-Centered Design principles and research methodologies.
• Experience with usability testing and data analysis to inform design.

Capstone Project:
Interns may present a Capstone Project at the end of the internship, showcasing their UX improvements to Raft's platforms. Alternatively, interns may contribute to ongoing design projects, including dashboard designs, user experience enhancements, and training materials.

• Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with occasional travel to Raft HQ.
• Hours: Up to 29 hours per week.
