Who We Are Looking For

As a Product Designer at Paper Giant, you’ll use your design expertise to solve complex client challenges. You’ll be a hands-on designer working collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality work for clients in the government, not-for-profit, and private sectors. You’ll scope and define design approaches, prototype and design digital interfaces, and create pathways for change through effective design and storytelling.

You bring deep knowledge and experience in visual and communication design across various contexts and mediums, with an essential grounding in human-centered design methodologies.

What You Will Do

  • Show Impact Through Design Practice:
    • Address design challenges from clear to ambiguous problem spaces
    • Apply design and creative approaches to solve client problems
    • Use conceptual thinking to address user and client needs
    • Communicate ideas through sketching, wireframing, and prototyping
    • Integrate design research into decision-making and design rationale
    • Design and facilitate workshops (both online and in-person)
    • Utilize tools like customer journeys, service blueprints, and experience maps
    • Engage in qualitative research to turn insights into actionable plans
    • Document work in design systems and brand guidelines
  • Deliver Client Projects to a High Standard:
    • Communicate research findings, strategic foresight, and conceptual ideas
    • Develop detailed designs and communicate rationale visually and verbally
    • Demonstrate adaptability to new processes, tools, and methods
    • Be proactive about seeking help when needed
  • Manage Client Relationships:
    • Communicate comfortably with clients and stakeholders
    • Deliver engaging presentations and tell compelling stories
  • Demonstrate Ethics, Purpose, and Care:
    • Show kindness, generosity, and respect in all interactions
    • Engage in ethical discussions about design work
    • Contribute positively to the studio practice and culture

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in a product design, UX/UI, communications design, or human-centered design role
  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Suite, and other no-code prototyping tools
  • Experience creating and using design systems and brand guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative research involving users
  • Ability to tailor design outputs to meet client needs
  • Willingness to travel for research if required
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Must have full working rights in Australia

Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 AUD plus superannuation (based on experience)
